Eight terrorists killed as Pakistan security forces thwart infiltration bid from Afghanistan

Military reminds the Afghan government of its promise about border control

Pakistan’s security forces successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt by a group of terrorists along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in North Waziristan’s Hassan Khel area on the night of April 5-6, 2025. Eight terrorists were killed, and four others were injured following an intense exchange of fire, ISPR said on Sunday.

A statement issued by the ISPR said that on the night between April 5 and 6, “movement of a group of khwarij, trying to infiltrate through Pakistan-Afghanistan border, was picked up by the security forces in general area Hassan Khel, North Waziristan District.”

Pakistani “troops effectively engaged and thwarted their attempt to infiltrate. After an intense exchange of fire, eight Khwarij were sent to hell, while four khwarij got injured,” added the statement.

The military in its statement also called on the interim Afghan government to live up to its promise of stopping militants from crossing into Pakistan.

“Pakistan has consistently been asking Interim Afghan Government to ensure effective border management on their side of the border. Interim Afghan Government is expected to fulfil its obligations and deny the use of Afghan soil by Khwarij for perpetuating acts of terrorism against Pakistan.”

The military said a sanitization operation was being conducted to eliminate any other militants found in the area “as security forces of Pakistan are determined and remain committed to secure its borders and wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country.”
