A team from the British Department for Transport (DFT) commenced a comprehensive audit of the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on Monday which is expected to continue until February 6.

A successful audit could pave the way for lifting the ban on Pakistan International Airlines and other Pakistani carriers in the United Kingdom, sources said.

The CAA has “completed” preparations to meet international standards ahead of this inspection.

On January 10, the national flag carrier resumed operations in Europe after a four-and-a-half-year hiatus, with flights landing safely at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris.

Charge d’Affairs Huzefa Khanum, who welcomed the flight, highlighted the importance of this service for the Pakistani diaspora, enhancing ties between Pakistan, France, and the European Union through increased trade, tourism, and cultural exchanges.
