Plane crash: CAA orders inquiry
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has ordered an inquiry into the crash of a small private aircraft in which 22 passengers with crew on board were killed on Friday morning.
A spokesman of CAA said that the investigation team will be headed by Air Commodore Khawaja Abdul Majeed.
"CAA Director General Nadeem Yousufzai who had gone to Islamabad for a meeting, has returned after the incident," the spokesman said and that the DG will also visit the site of the incident.
The aircraft B-190 owned by JS Airliner crashed one minute after departure from Jinnah International Airport at 7:13 a.m.
The pilot had informed the Control Tower that one of the engine of the aircraft was not functioning and he was asked to return to the airport.
But the aircraft crashed near the airport claiming lives of all 21 on board.
