OxfordAQA, in collaboration with Oxford University Press Pakistan, hosted the final event of a series of national-level conferences for educationalists, policymakers, and academic experts in Karachi.

The conference highlighted discussions on the transformative impact of educational management, innovative teaching methods, and digital advancements in education.

In his opening address, Arshad Saeed Husain, Managing Director of Oxford University Press Pakistan, outlined OxfordAQA’s plans to create equitable learning opportunities for students.

Salma Adil, Director of OxfordAQA Pakistan, shared insights on leveraging digital technologies to enhance outreach.

Dr. Fouzia Khan, Chief Advisor at the School Education & Literacy Department of the Government of Sindh, delivered a keynote address emphasizing the need for evolving assessment approaches.

She noted, “As education continues to evolve, so must our approach to assessment. OxfordAQA’s commitment to fairness and inclusivity in assessment design ensures equal opportunities for all students.”

Husain further remarked, “While rote memorization may yield results, the real challenge lies in inspiring and engaging students, focusing on meaningful learning rather than mere retention.

OxfordAQA is dedicated to bridging learning gaps and enhancing student wellbeing, ensuring that students not only gain university admission but thrive beyond it.“

Sajjad Syed, Principal of Links School, praised OxfordAQA specifications for aligning with their educational philosophy, emphasizing conceptual understanding and analytical skills to foster independent learning.

Andrew Coombe, Managing Director of OxfordAQA, addressed the need for digital qualifications, stating, “In our increasingly digital world, it’s imperative that we continually enhance the legacy of learning to remain relevant to both learners and educators.”

A panel discussion moderated by Dr. Farid Panjwani, Dean of Agha Khan University’s Institute for Educational Development, explored innovations in teaching and learning, while a roundtable discussion led by Neda Mulji, Senior Manager for Professional Development at Oxford University Press Pakistan, highlighted the importance of collaboration and effective leadership in driving educational transformation.

Eoin MacGabhann, International Development Manager at OxfordAQA, presented on equitable assessments and inclusivity in evaluation processes.

The conference culminated in a panel discussion featuring Theresa Crisham-Nimmo, Head of OxfordAQA Marketing, Amanda Ingram, Director of Exams at the British Council Pakistan, and Muhammad Ejaz Ahsan, Director of IBCC.

Ingram discussed the British Council’s partnership with OxfordAQA to support schools in Pakistan, while Ahsan confirmed that OxfordAQA qualifications are recognized by IBCC, with their International GCSE and A-levels equivalent to Pakistan’s Secondary Schools Certificate and Higher Secondary School Certificate.
