The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) has reported that more than 10,500 workers in the UAE have accessed the Unemployment Insurance policy in 2024, receiving essential financial support during unemployment periods.

The Unemployment Insurance System now includes approximately 9 million subscribers. It offers financial compensation of 60% of an individual’s base salary for up to three months, helping workers maintain stability as they search for new employment.

MOHRE emphasized that the program is vital for building a resilient workforce capable of adapting to economic changes while enhancing job security in the region.

The Ministry is also focused on ensuring efficient compliance and integrating modern technology to streamline access and management of benefits, demonstrating a proactive approach to meet the evolving needs of the UAE’s diverse workforce.

Compensation Categories:

  • Category 1: For employees earning a basic salary of Dh16,000 or less, with a monthly subscription fee of Dh5. Compensation can reach a maximum of Dh10,000 per month.
  • Category 2: For employees earning above Dh16,000, with a monthly subscription fee of Dh10. The maximum compensation in this category is Dh20,000 per month.
