Karachi is currently facing significant traffic disruptions as protests take place at thirteen locations throughout the city in response to the ongoing worm crisis.

The Sindh government has appealed to Shia scholars to assist in ending the demonstrations.

According to traffic police, Shahrah-e-Faisal has been fully reopened after the conclusion of the protest at Natha Khan Bridge. The protest at Malir 15 has also ended, allowing traffic on both sides of Shahrah Faisal to resume.

However, both roads in front of Abbas Town on Abul Hasan Isphahani Road remain closed due to protests. A demonstration is also taking place at Five Star Chowrangi in North Nazimabad, and another protest is occurring in front of Samama Shopping Complex on University Road.

According to traffic police, two roads in front of Kala Chapra on Shahrah-e-Faisal are closed due to the protests, and another demonstration has blocked access near Malir 15 Flyover.

Additional disruptions are reported on Surjani Town Road and Shahrah-e-Pakistan in front of Ancholi, where traffic has come to a standstill.

Additionally, a protest by a religious group is taking place in front of Ancholi in Shahrah-e-Pakistan, also at Johar Mor Bridge, Kamran Chowrangi, and Safari Chowrangi in Gulistan-e-Johar.

Traffic police have implemented alternative routes to manage congestion. Vehicles coming to and from Numaish are being diverted through Gurumandir and surrounding roads, while traffic in Gulistan-e-Johar is redirected via Mosmiat and Manzoor Chowrangi. Commuters heading to Safora Goth are being routed near Kiran Hospital.

Furthermore, traffic from the Super Highway towards Abbas Town is being directed near Paradise Bakery and Fariya Chowk. At Five Star Chowrangi, vehicles are being routed through the service road. Due to ongoing protests, traffic on University Road is being diverted to nearby roads, while similar measures are in place around demonstrations in Ancholi and Ayesha Manzil.

The spokesperson of the Sindh Government, Sadia Javed, has appealed to the protesting groups to consider the inconvenience caused to local residents.

She noted that the road closures are creating significant difficulties, particularly for ambulances and essential supplies trying to navigate through the city.

Javed suggested that if the protests continue, the groups could relocate to designated city grounds or the press club, where all necessary facilities would be provided.
