Punjab CTD arrests 34 militants in 242 intelligence-based operations
The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Punjab has arrested 34 militants during 242 intelligence-based operations across multiple cities.
The CTD spokesperson reported that operations were carried out in Lahore, Bahawalnagar, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, and Rawalpindi, as well as in Sargodha, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujrat, and Rahim Yar Khan. Among those arrested, 11 were identified as dangerous militants linked to various banned organizations.
Authorities seized explosives and materials intended for constructing suicide vests from these individuals.
Officials revealed that the arrested militants had plans to target a government building in Lahore.
In addition to these arrests, the CTD has conducted 7,536 combing operations throughout the month, resulting in the apprehension of 637 suspects, further underscoring the ongoing efforts to enhance security and combat terrorism in the region.
