Swabi police station’s roof collapses after explosion

At least 15 people were injured in the blast

A powerful explosion rocked the City Police Station in Swabi District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, causing the roof to collapse and injuring several people.

Following the blast, rescue teams and ambulances rushed to the scene. Videos circulating on social media show people carrying away the injured and flames rising from the police station.

The explosion resulted in numerous injuries and the collapse of the building’s roof. A fire broke out after the blast.

Police have stated that they are investigating the cause of the explosion. Initial reports suggest the blast occurred in the kotwali located on the second floor of the Swabi police station.

The explosion destroyed barracks, and several people were trapped under the rubble.

Rescue sources initially reported eight injured, including two critically injured, who were transported to the hospital. Firefighters have brought the fire under control.

Later, Rescue spokesperson Bilal Fayyaz reported that the number of injured has risen to 15.
