Umer Sherani, close aide of Mohsin Dawar, killed in Dera Ismail Khan
Umer Sherani, the provincial organiser of the National Democratic Movement (NDM), was killed when unidentified men opened fire at him in Dera Ismail Khan’s Daraban Tehsil on Monday.
Sherani, a close aide of NDM leader Mohsin Dawar, had reportedly received a threat alert from the police a few days earlier.
The NDM leader was responsible for organising the party’s activities at the provincial level. His assassination is likely to have significant implications for the political dynamics in the region.
On Sunday, Nekzali Shah from Eidak, North Waziristan, was killed in Mir Ali during the Aman Pasoon.
He was a brilliant cricket player and had played in Pakistan under 19. He was killed during a rally in which our people were demanding peace,“ Dawar said in a post on X.
