Gold prices in Pakistan surge to new record high despite dip in international market
Gold prices in Pakistan continued to rise on Friday, reaching a new high despite a decrease in international gold rates.
In the local Pakistani market, the price of gold per tola (a unit of weight) increased by Rs200, settling at Rs262,000.
Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold increased by Rs172, now being sold at Rs224,623. This follows the previous day’s increase of Rs800, with gold prices closing at Rs261,800 on Thursday.
Conversely, the international gold rate declined on Friday, dropping $12 per ounce to $2,492 per ounce (including a $20 premium).
Meanwhile, the price of silver remained unchanged at Rs2,950 per tola in the Pakistani market.

Gold prices in Pakistan continued to rise on Wednesday as the price of gold per tola increased by Rs300, reaching Rs261,000.
The local market saw the price of gold per tola increased by Rs700, bringing it to Rs260,700 on August 21.
