Sindh governor to be changed soon, confirms Dar
The decision to change the Sindh governor would be made in the next few days, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said on Sunday.
He confirmed to Aaj News that Bashir Memon was not being appointed as the new provincial governor. Just two days ago, Dar had denied any such reports.
“Positions come and go, and no one stays in them for life, but one should leave with a legacy that people remember,” incumbent Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori stated in the recent past.
Earlier, the MQM-Pakistan had also termed such reports as mere rumours, citing that if the government had made such a decision, it would have consulted the party.
Tessori was sworn in as the 34th governor of Sindh on October 10, 2022. His appointment had also “surprised” the MQM-P Rabita Committee as his name was not among the three names suggested by the party for the coveted slot.
