Two Levies officials martyred in Quetta

Two Levies officials were killed in a shooting attack at a checkpoint in Pishin district, authorities reported on Monday.

According to police, unidentified armed assailants opened fire on the Levies checkpoint along the Kali Malizai road, resulting in the deaths of Levies personnel Yasir Ilyas and Abdul Qadeer.

The attackers fled the scene following the incident.

The bodies of the slain Levies officials were transported to a local hospital, where they were handed over to their families after completing necessary procedures.

Immediately after the attack was reported, Pishin administration officials rushed to the site, cordoned off the area, and launched a search operation to apprehend the perpetrators.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the attack on the Levies checkpoint in Quetta and paid tribute to the two martyred Levies personnel.

The Interior Minister expressed condolences to the families of the martyrs, stating that the Levies personnel attained the honorable status of martyrdom while performing their duties.

The Balochistan government also condemned the attack on the Levies checkpoint in Pishin and paid tribute to the martyred personnel.

The government spokesperson stated that the attack on the Levies checkpoint is a condemnable and unforgivable crime, and the elements involved will be brought to justice. They honored the brave Levies personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.

The government spokesperson further said that the sacrifices of the security forces personnel will not go in vain in the effort to eliminate anti-social elements and establish the writ of the state.
