Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior on Friday rejected reports circulating on social media about the specific expulsion of Pakistanis from the United Arab Emirates, calling them propaganda and part of a malicious and fake campaign.

The ministry said Pakistanis from any specific country or religion were not being targeted and that deportations were only routine actions taken for violations of the host country’s laws.

It said Pakistani citizens were continuing to obtain visas from the UAE and other friendly countries.

The ministry added that action against overstaying and illegal documents was a routine part of the process and urged the public to remain cautious about fake news.
