Pakistan urges Afghanistan to take action against Bannu attack perpetrators
Pakistani has demanded the interim Afghan government to “immediate and effective action” against the perpetrators of the terrorist attack on the Bannu Cantonment.
“Pakistan reiterated its serious concerns over the presence of terror outfits inside Afghanistan that continue to threaten Pakistan’s security,” the foreign office said in a statement on Wednesday.
Militants attacked the military base in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu on Monday, ramming a vehicle loaded with explosives into the perimeter wall. Eight security force members were martyred in the attack.
At least 10 terrorists were also killed as the security forces repulsed the attack
The attack was claimed by the Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group, which Pakistan’s military said operates out of neighbouring Afghanistan.
According to the Inter-Services Public Wing, Pakistan has raised its concerns with the Interim Afghan government, asking them to deny the use of Afghan soil by the terrorists and take action against such elements.

The Bannu attack was “yet another reminder of the serious threat” posed by terrorism to regional peace and security, the statement said.
It urged Taliban authorities to “fully investigate and take immediate, robust and effective action against the perpetrators of the Bannu attack and to prevent the recurrence of such attacks.”
