Pakistan on Tuesday called on Afghanistan to extradite outlawed TTP leader Hafiz Gul Bahadur over his group’s involvement in the recent suicide bombing in Bannu of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, sources said.

The ministry of foreign affairs summoned the Afghan Charge d’affaires in Pakistan and registered strong protest over Afghan nationals’ involvement in the terror activities in Pakistan.

Pakistan demanded the Afghan government stop its soil from being used in the cross-border attacks.

A suicide bombing in Bannu killed two people while injuring ten others including soldiers, Inter-Services Public Relations said a day earlier.

“On 26 November 2023, a motorcycle-borne suicide bomber, affiliated with Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group and later identified as an Afghan national, exploded himself on a security forces’ convoy,” the statement said.

ISPR said that the explosion took place in the Bakka Khel area of Bannu and that the attacker was riding a motorcycle.
