Marwat denies reports of Imran placing ban on public appearances

Says his honesty often gets him into trouble

Sher Afzal Marwat revealed on Wednesday that his honest answers to political questions have often led to difficulties for him.

Speaking on the program ‘Rubaroo’ on Wednesday, he candidly discussed his experiences within the party, particularly his recent absence from the media.

He stated, “I cannot lie when answering political questions, and my truthfulness has sometimes created problems.”

He further explained that he prefers to focus on his work and has been avoiding talk shows lately, not due to any party restrictions but because of his personal preference. He emphasized that PTI Chairman Imran Khan has not imposed any restrictions on him.

“Khan Sahib has not given any directives to limit my public appearances,” Marwat said, adding that the party chairman generally avoids interfering in minor matters.

“If any party leader claims that Imran Khan has banned me from appearing on talk shows, they are lying.”

Marwat also highlighted the challenges he faced within the party, stating that he was always involved in difficult tasks like organizing protests and rallies. However, he clarified that he has never sought or received any privileges from the party, such as ministerial positions or advisory roles, even during periods when the PTI was in power.

He expressed pride in his contributions to the party, stating, “I have worked hard for the party, serving on the political front for Khan Sahib voluntarily. The result of our efforts is evident in the party’s recent comeback and the seats it secured in the elections.”

Imran’s release only possible through protest

“Khan is innocent and imprisoned. His release can only be achieved through mass public protests,” Marwat said.

“When a successful protest happens, perhaps our bargaining position will improve, and those who negotiate will listen attentively. This is my personal opinion.”

Protest with his ‘own team’

He said that if Khan asks for a protest, he will definitely participate, but will form his own team and protest with them. This team will be from within the party, meaning that a protest committee should be formed.

He said that we couldn’t enjoy Eid because Khan is unjustly imprisoned, without any fault or reason.

“The nation should understand that this man, at the age of 72, embraced prison only for a better future of Pakistan.”

Sher Afzal Marwat also said that Pakistan’s integrity is going through extremely unfavorable circumstances. If we don’t come to our senses, I believe the situation could be worse than 1971.

Regarding Eid ul-Adha festivities, he said that he distributes meat on Eid ul-Adha, meets with close relatives, and have barbecue parties.
