Two arrested after violent attack on Islamabad Police Station following protest
Two individuals have been arrested in connection with a violent attack on Shalimar Police Station late last night, following the arrest of participants from a Jamaat-e-Islami protest.
The suspects, identified as Muhammad Daniyal and Iftikhar Hussain, were part of a mob that stormed the station in retaliation.
According to the First Information Report (FIR) registered by the police, a group of 35 to 45 people forcefully entered the police station, shouting slogans and issuing threats to kill anyone who attempted to stop them.
The attackers caused significant damage to the property during the assault and fled the scene afterward.
The FIR includes charges under anti-terrorism laws and 11 other sections of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Police stated that the suspects involved in the vandalism can be identified if presented, and efforts are underway to track down the remaining individuals responsible for the attack.
Similarly, three days back, a group of unidentified individuals attacked an international food chain outlet in Islamabad’s E-11/2 sector. The incident resulted in damage to the premises, prompting swift action from law enforcement agencies.
