Master Changan Motors to introduce electric vehicles in Pakistan

Master Changan Motors Limited (MCML) is set to launch two electric vehicles in Pakistan in the coming months, according to media reports.

The two electric vehicle (EV) brands are Deepal S07 SUV and L07 Sedan variants. 

The company has not provided any official confirmation; however, the senior executive has told local media that the launch of electric vehicles was on the cards. 

The company is performing its operations under the Vast Ocean Plan.

MCML’s parent company, Changan, has unveiled distinct electric vehicle brands, such as Avatr, Deepal, and Nevo.

Director of Sales and Marketing at MCML, Syed Shabbiruddin, has said that the company plans to commence new electric vehicles in Pakistan soon. 

It is reported that the MCML is in the last stages of launching the Deepal S07, a versatile mid-size crossover SUV, and the Deepal L07, a sleek fastback sports sedan. 

Changan jointly developed its EV-first platform with Huawei and CATL and already launched Deepal L07 sedan and Deepal S07 SUV in Thailand recently which is a right hand drive market like Pakistan.

Shabbiruddin showed confidence in electric vehicles, stating that important elements such as the growing demand for cars by Pakistani youth indicate an additional 360,000 vehicles by 2030.
