Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said on Sunday the board would give $100,000 (around Rs28 million) to each member of its World Cup squad if they win the tournament.

“This amount is insignificant compared to Pakistan’s victory,” he said while meeting the national squad in the dressing room in Lahore.

The PCB chairman expressed hope that the national players would raise the flag of Pakistan this time. He encouraged them to play without pressure, engage in fierce competition, and give their all on the field.

Naqvi emphasized that the focus should be on the competition.

He presented special green shirts to Mohammad Rizwan for completing 3,000 runs in T20 matches and Naseem Shah for taking 100 wickets in T20 matches. Later, Chairman PCB also expressed his gratitude to the players and officials.

The Twenty20 showpiece, which starts on June 1, is being jointly staged by the United States and the West Indies.
