First Saudi Arabia male robot accused of harassing female reporter
Saudi Arabia’s first male humanoid robot drew international attention for all the wrong reasons as it has been accused of “harassing” a female reporter, Times Now reported.
Unveiled at the DeepFest, the humanoid robot was seen behaving inappropriately with a female news reporter. The event is being held at Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Saudi Arabia from March 4 to March 7.
In the viral clip, a female reporter can be seen standing right next to it while talking about its features.
It was then that the robot tried to extend his hand to touch her from the back.
The robot was dressed in traditional Saudi attire as it interacted with visitors and underscored Saudi Arabia’s strides in artificial intelligence (AI).
“I am the first Saudi robot in the form of a man. Manufactured and developed here in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, I represent a national endeavor showcasing our AI achievements. Together, we usher in a new era of innovation,” said the robot.
