Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Saturday vowed to take action against those involved in violence during the election.

“Our workers were beaten up on election day. We will apprehend those involved in attacking our workers,” he told media after visiting the home of a party supporter who was killed in a firing incident on February 8.

Zardari criticised the Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) for their filing a first information report against the family of the worker who was killed in the firing.

The former foreign minister directed the upcoming chief minister of Sindh to take swift action against those who were involved in violence against workers of political parties during the election campaign.

“We will form a joint investigation team to investigate all such incidents. We will apprehend those involved in such activities and bring them to justice,” he added.

Without naming anyone, he said that political parties who wish to bring political violence to Karachi, will not be allowed by the PPP’s provincial government to do such things.
