PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that his party was not seeking any electoral alliance with any party as the country heads towards general elections on February 8.

“We are contesting elections on our own,” he said in an interview with Voice of America (VOA) Urdu. The clip of the interview shared by the party on X shows the interview was conducted in Hyderabad last week.

Days before polls, Bilawal has been giving a round of interviews to conventional media and social media influencers.

Last month, the scion of Bhutto dynasty released the party manifesto in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh on the 16th death anniversary of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto.

The former foreign minister also resolved to revamp the health sector, with plans to replicate successful models like NICVD, SIUT, and Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences nationwide.

When asked, he said that some parties were planning to support Nawaz Sharif if they won elections.

He clarified that he was warning against Sharif’s alleged attempts to pressurise the administration to tamper with election results.

“I want political stability and don’t politicians to get into these matters,” he said and expressed that the administration would not take such steps.

He was wary of the administrative system amid the former opposition leader joining the PML-N.

When asked about the role of the establishment in the elections, he said and stressed the need for working on the democratic evolution of Pakistan.

“Politicians will need to take steps. Politicians should respect each other. If we don’t then we should not expect others to do it. Secondly, politicians should to politics under the limits of politics,” he said and called for deciding the courts of the game that would not allow politicians to not turn differences into personal enmity.
