Hamid Saeed Kazmi rejoins PPP
Former Religious Affairs minister Hamid Saeed Kazmi joined the Pakistan Peoples Party on Sunday.
Kazmi announced his joining after meeting with Asif Ali Zardari in Islamabad Sunday. Ahmad Saeed Kazmi also announced that he would join the PPP in the meeting.
PPP leaders Nayyer Bokhari, Makhdoom Ahmad Mahmood and Abdul Qadir Shaheen were also present in the meeting.
Kazmi served as the minister for religious affairs under the PPP government from 2008-2010 after being elected on a party ticket from Rahim Yar Khan.
He left office after being sentenced to sixteen years in prison for his involvement in the Haj scandal by a lower court but was later acquitted by the Islamabad High Court.
He contested the 2018 elections as an independent candidate but lost and joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in 2022.
