Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai has joined a campaign for the safety of Palestinian children in Gaza where Israel has been bombing in response to the October 7 assault by Hamas.

“Join me in adding your name to this petition demanding that Israel halt its assault on schools and places where children are seeking shelter, and that leaders reach a deal to release all children being unjustly held hostage or imprisoned,” she said in a post while commenting on Avaaz, global movement, post on X on Thursday.

The campaign called for a ceasefire for children, saying that children held hostage by Hamas or the children living in fear of bombs falling in Gaza were in danger.

At least 3,785 people have been killed in the Gaza Strip since Israel began bombarding the coastal enclave, the health ministry in Palestine said on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Malala has expressed her solidarity with Palestine after the recent bombing of the Al Ahli Hospital in the Gaza Strip and donated $300,000 for them.
