Brothers of Afghan woman murdered with husband and child arrested
The matter of a couple being murdered along with their child in Quetta earlier this month has finally been solved, with the woman’s brothers being arrested for the act.
Abdul Khaliq, who belongs to Mandokhailabad, was travelling with his wife, Bibi Malala, and four-year-old son, Ameer Hamza, when they were gunned down near the Northern bypass.
The family had died on the spot while the killers had managed to flee to Afghanistan.
The case for the matter was filed in Abdul Khaliq police station and officials claimed to be using CCTV videos and geo-fencing to track the killers.
On Wednesday, the police received a tip off that the men involved in the murder were back in Quetta and were on Sibbi road.
The police acted quickly to arrest Naqeebullah aka Pehelwan and Abdullah aka Abdul Khaliq and also took the motorcycle and TT pistol used in the murder.
Police identified the ment as the woman’s brothers. They said that the woman belonged to Afghanistan and had been married to her brother in law after the death of her husband six years ago.
However, the woman came to Pakistan with a relative for treatment where she met Abdul Khaliq. She went back to Afghanistan but then left secretly for Pakistan again to marry Abdul Khaliq.
The couple lived in secrecy and had a son, Ameer Hamza, who was murdered in the incident.
Meanwhile, the woman’s brothers kept searching for her and eventually located her. On August 8, they murdered the couple with theri child in the name of honour.
Police is still looking for two accomplices who aided the murder and recorded a video on the phone.
The two men under arrest have also confessed that they killed another couple in the name of honour in Karachi’s Surjani Town and are nominated in a case.
