Lakki Marwat terror attack kills 4 policemen including DSP
A terror attack in the Lakki Marwat district of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province has killed four police officials including a deputy superintendent of police.
At least five other policemen were injured when terrorists blew up a police vehicle using improvised explosive device, or IED in the wee hours of Thursday.
The KP police said in a statement that DSP Iqbal Mohmand, with a police party, had left for Lakki Marwat Saddar on learning about a terror attack on the Saddar Police Station.
On the way, an IED blast occurred near Pirwala Mor, which killed DSP Iqbal Momand and three constables Waqar, Ali Marjan and Karamatullah, the statement said.
After the explosion, a heavy police force reached the spot and started a search operation in the area.
Lucky Marwat has been targeted by terrorists for over a year, with most of the attacks directed at the police.
Meanwhile, terrorists attacked Takwara police check post in Dera Ismail Khan district with a rocket launcher on Wednesday night.
According to the police, two terrorists were injured and others escaped in the retaliatory action.
