Hot, dry weather expected across KP: PMD
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast hot and dry weather across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), with temperatures expected to remain significantly above normal in many parts of the province.
According to the PMD, southern districts will experience particularly intense heat during the day, with daytime temperatures expected to be 4 to 6 degrees Celsius higher than average.
Moreover, some plains of the province may experience strong, dusty winds.
In the provincial capital Peshawar, the minimum temperature was recorded at 19 degrees Celsius, while the maximum is expected to rise to 40 degrees Celsius.
Kalam recorded the lowest temperature in the province at 9 degrees Celsius, offering some relief compared to the rest of the region.
The highest temperature is expected in Dera Ismail Khan, where mercury levels could soar to 42 degrees Celsius.
Authorities have advised residents to stay hydrated, avoid unnecessary exposure to sunlight during peak hours, and take precautions against heat-related illnesses.
