Retired general Pervez Musharraf in ‘difficult stage’ as organs malfunction
Former president and general Pervez Musharraf has been in the hospital for the past three weeks, his family clarified on his official Twitter account after social media was abuzz with speculation around his health on Friday.
Musharraf has been suffering from amyloidosis, a rare but serious condition, where there is a build-up of amyloid, a protein, in the body.
He developed complications and had to be admitted. He is “going through a difficult stage where recovery is not possible and his organs are malfunctioning.”
Close members of his family have reached Dubai.
