Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has asserted that the 'document' containing details of the threat made by foreign country was clearly an attempt to change the government in Pakistan.

The minister was talking about the 'letter' Prime Minister Imran Khan flashed before the public during the PTI's March 27 rally in Islamabad, saying that it was a "written evidence" that 'foreign hands' were behind the move to oust him.

Addressing a press conference alongside Federal Minister Hammad Azhar in Islamabad on Thursday, Fawad said that the 'document' was discussed in the National Security Committee (NSC) yesterday (Wednesday) and an in-camera session of the Parliamentary Committee for National Security has also been convened.

The minister further said that the premier will also discuss the matter in his televised address to the nation later in the evening today, adding that he would share further developments regarding the matter tomorrow.

Fawad also alleged that some of the opposition leaders were involved in this 'foreign funded' conspiracy against the prime minister and the government, adding that they were taking dictation from 'foreign powers' and those who were inimical to Pakistan's interests.

He further said that main purpose behind all these efforts was to remove Imran Khan over his independent foreign policy.

He also advised the dissident PTI MNAs to review their decision, claiming that some of the opposition leaders were involved in this conspiracy against the premier. "The PTI is not against any constitutional changes in the government but the opposition's move to oust the premier is on the dictation of foreign elements."

Fawad also alleged that PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and some senior personalities from media were directly involved in this 'foreign funded' conspiracy.

The minister invited the journalist to attend the in-camera session of the parliament and see the document that purtportedly unmarks the foreign threat to the country's incumbent government.

PML-N giving baseless statements, says Gill

Meanwhile, Special Assistant on Political Communications Dr. Shahbaz Gill reiterated that the PM Imran will neither resign nor seek 'safe exit'. Certian media outlets have reported that PM Imran was open to the idea of stepping down and dissolving assemblies if the opposition were to take back the no-confidence motion.

Referring to PML-N leaders, he stated in the past they have used their power just to run their own businesses and now they are engaged in giving baseless statements against the government.

"They sold the country just to continue their own politics and now they talk about principles," he added.
