Leader of Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) Shahzain Bugti said that Prime Minister Imran Khan's PTI-led government only gave assurances, adding that the federal government had failed to deliver in Balochistan.

Speaking exclusively at Aaj News program Spot Light, Bugti said that he had recently informed the government that there were around 290,000 refugees in Balochistan who were helpless since 2005.

The JWP leader further said that he had made commitments to the people of Balochistan regarding the issue of missing persons in the province.

On Sunday, Bugti had announced that he was resigning from the federal cabinet. Bugti said that he stands with PDM and will try to do his best for the people of Pakistan.

Bugti was appointed as special assistant as part of the government’s efforts to engage with the insurgent groups in the province.

Replying to a question regarding his resignation the JWP leader said that the expectations of the people of Balochistan from the government “suffered a setback,” forcing him to make the decision to leave the government.

Bugti also alleged that insurgency grew during the PTI government's tenure due to its negligence, adding that before the incumbent government the situation of the province was quite better and things were improving.
