Punjab Assembly Speaker and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf ally Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi severely criticised Prime Minister Imran Khan and said the decisions taken on the behalf of the government have caused more damage than good and that they should have learned from their own experiences.

"A child will only learn when you let him off the lap and let them walk. Do they want to keep changing nappies their entire life?" he said during an interview with Hum News on Tuesday while talking about the government. When asked why aren't nappies being changed now, Elahi candidly replied that nappies are also expensive now.

After this clip was shared on social media, #nappy mehngi hongai started trending on Twitter.

Netizens lauded the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid leader for passing the hilarious remarks, with one user saying they were "too good and difficult" for the PTI to absorb.

Another user reminded Prime Minister Imran Khan that he called Elahi a "daako" or thief, while adding, "And you thought he forgot about that"

In another amusing tweet, a user said: "After Imran Khan is thrown out of PM office, a book will be written "aur nappy mehangi ho gayi""

While turning the table and returning the comment towards the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid, another user tweeted, PML-Q league is a nappy for the PTI government, which the latter will change this time.

Some social media users appreciated his candidness while saying that they hadn't seen Elahi play both sides of the wicket and called their comments sixers.

While another user wondered if Prime Minister Imran Khan will mention Elahi's interview and shed light on the price of the nappies,

And anchorperson Wajih Sani expressed sympathy with the prime minister on this trend.
