Covid-related deaths stay in single digits for 5th day running
The number of daily deaths due to the coronavirus pandemic remained in single digits for the fifth consecutive day as four people died of Covid in the last 24 hours, according to the National Command and Operation Centre data issued on Thursday.
Out of 36,241 Covid tests conducted during the last 24 hours, 639 people tested positive for the virus across the country, while the positivity rate was 1.76%.
Currently, 707 patients infected with the virus are on critical care.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr Faisal Sultan in a tweet on Sunday announced that Pakistan fully vaccinated more than 100 million people against Covid.
The same day NCOC chief Asad Umar termed the number of fully vaccinated people a "major milestone" and tweeted: "We are very close to achieving vaccination of all eligible citizens."
In the last 24 hours, 0.46 million people were fully inoculated against the virus taking the tally to more than 101 million people.
