At least 65% eligible population fully vaccinated against Covid: Dr Faisal Sultan

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr Faisal Sultan on Thursday said at least 65% population of the country eligible for vaccination had been fully inoculated against Covid.

At least 70% students who are above 12 years had also been fully vaccinated against the virus, the SAPM tweeted.

Meanwhile, more than 99 million people across the country have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus pandemic, according to the National Command and Operation Centre data.

In related news, Pakistan reported less than 1,000 Covid cases for the fifth consecutive day as 768 people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, according to the NCOC data issued on Thursday.

Last time the country recorded 1,207 cases of the virus on February 26, with 2.25% Covid positivity rate.

According to the NCOC data, the Covid positivity rate remained 2.17%, with 19 people died of the virus in the last 24 hours.

Currently, 908 patients infected with the virus are on critical care.

With the decline in coronavirus cases across the country, the Covid monitoring body had allowed full occupancy at stadiums for the Pakistan-Australia cricket series that will be held in three cities from March 4 to April 5.
