Govt decides 15% raise in ASF salary: Rashid
The government has decided to raise the salaries of Airport Security Force personnel by 15%, similar to the increase in the remuneration of Frontier Corps and Rangers announced by Prime Minister Imran Khan earlier this month.
“The prime minister had given his approval in that regard today,” Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid was quoted as saying in a statement issued on Friday. The ASF employees would get an increase in their salary with effect from March 1, he added.
The minister said the prime minister had approved 15% increase in the salaries of the civil armed forces last week. The government had already announced 15% disparity allowance for the federal government employees from Grade 1-19, he added.
The development comes weeks after the premier’s announcement of a 15% increase in the salaries of Frontier Corps and Rangers personnel during a visit to Nushki, Balochistan on February 8.
“I pay tribute to the heroes who neutralized the terrorists. I was told that the terrorists were going towards the families. I want to give a message to our army that the entire nation is behind you,” PM Imran had said while addressing army troops in the Nushki area of Balochistan.
PM Imran had also spoken to soldiers who repulsed a coordinated terrorist attack on security bases in Panjgur and Nushki last week.
He also had said that there was “record-breaking” inflation across the world and the incumbent government was trying to improve the country’s economic situation.
Moreover, Rashid in his media talk earlier this month, had said that the premier had approved his request to increase the salaries of security forces.
