Pakistan records at least 10% Covid rate for 8th consecutive day

At least 11.91% positive rate was reported across the country during the last 24 hours

Pakistan recorded more than 10 per cent positivity rate on the eighth consecutive day with 7,539 positive cases reported during the last 24 hours, according to the National Command and Operation Centre data.

As per the NCOC data, 11.91 per cent Covid-19 positive rate was reported across the country during the last 24 hours.

On Wednesday, the country recorded a massive number of virus patients on critical care which stood at 1,293 mark. However, the tally went a little down on Thursday with 1,240 total critical care cases, while 25 people succumbed to the virus during the last 24 hours.

In the last week the NCOC announced new curbs for the cities having more than 10 per cent infection rate to contain the spread of Covid-19.

According to the latest data, Peshawar topped in positivity ratio in comparison with other cities of the country with 35.89 per cent, followed by Karachi with 26.32 per cent, reported Geo.

Quoting a notification of the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority, the report said the PCAA issued directions for airport staff members and passengers to wear mask amid rising cases of the Omicron variant as they would not be allowed to enter the airport premises without masks.
