Chitral Women’s Sports Club founder Karishma Ali is on a mission to enable young girls from the remote region of Chitral to play football and “harness their talent through sports,” the official Twitter account of FIFA Women’s World Cup tweeted on Wednesday.

Posting beautiful pictures of young women playing football in a field surrounded by mountains, FIFA Women’s World Cup Twitter called Ali “a pioneer.”

Ali thanked FIFA for featuring her work on their profile, and took the chance to bring attention to her cause.

“Please help us reach to government org or corporations that can help us build a safe place where these girls can continue to practice,” she said.

Not only did Ali defy all norms and become a footballer, she decided to pave the way for other females in the area by forming Chitral's first football club for girls. Ali, at 24, already has an impressive portfolio with not only a listing on the Forbes 30 under 30 but also the unique honour of representing Chitral during Milan's Fashion Week.

Ali continued to work tirelessly through the pandemic as well to ensure that affected families had enough food and essential supplies.

An inspiration to many, the Twitterati was all praise for Ali for promoting football in Pakistan.
