Medical student's father blames university for daughter's death
The father of a medical student in Larkana who was found dead in her room earlier this week on Thursday rejected the postmortem which says she committed suicide and blames the university instead.
According to a story in ARY News on Friday, Syed Hidayatullah Kazmi refused to believe his daughter Nosheen, a fourth year medical student at Chandka Medical College, would commit suicide because she was a religious girl.
In an interview to Express Tribune Kazmi on Wednesday he said "I spoke to my daughter over the phone yesterday [Tuesday]. She sounded confident and I didn't find anything to worry about."
The post mortem said Nosheen died by suicide. It also said it did not find any marks of violence on her body.
Kazmi rejected the report's findings.
Social media was filled with images of Nosheen's dead body on Tuesday which Aaj Digital chose not to run due to privacy issues.
Speaking to the media after the news of her death emerged, principal Prof Dr Gulzar Sheikh said his institution was fully cooperating with the police in its investigation and that they had also formed an inquiry committee to investigate the incident. He also said Nosheen's family was allowed to meet the roommates of their daughter who found the dead girl's body hanging from a fan.
