All is well: PTI's Aamir Liaquat gets to meet PM Imran
Following a tweet lamenting not meeting Prime Minister Imran Khan, Pakistan Tehreeke Insaf's Aamir Liaquat appeared satisfied after meeting his leader in his chambers before the start of the joint session of Parliament on Wednesday.
Liaquat, who was formerly a member of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), won his NA-245 constituency in Karachi on a PTI ticket in the 2018 elections.
However, he seemed upset at not having had a chance to meet with the PM and tweeted his disappointment.
Following this aforementioned tweet, it appeared the issue was resolved as he then tweeted about meeting the premier, saying all was well.
He then went onto tweet an image of himself from his meeting with Khan and an Urdu couplet declaring his love for the prime minister.
Liaquat is known for his flamboyancy as a TV anchor and politician with many of his statements becoming memes and going viral.
Reactions to his tweet about his not meeting the prime minister were no different.
Many found Liaquat referencing himself as an icon rather hilarious.
While others couldn't help but comment on his hurt feelings.
Liaquat was also in the news on Wednesday for his comments about being "brought to Parliament."
Liaquat was ostensibly responding to speculations about how many parliamentarians will show up for Wednesday's session and which way they'd vote given that the government had cancelled an earlier session last week.
As Aaj News journalist Asma Shirazi noted, his comments will go down in history.
