Twitter showers Asif Ali with appreciation, love & apologies
No one doubts batsman Asif Ali's prowess any more.
The batsman's performance in Friday's match against Afghanistan resulted in an outpouring of love and apology forms.
The forms were a way for social media users to express their regrets about their earlier dislike for the batsman. Some of the apology forms floating on Twitter give users the option to choose why they doubted Ali and include things like: My agenda blinded me, I only looked at his stats and I hate Islamabad United.
Islamabad United also decided to join the meme game and offered forms themselves.
Asif Ali himself seemed overjoyed by his performance and recorded a video to ostensibly shut down the naysayers by saying people will need to now remember his name.
British cricketer Ben Stoakes agreed.
Accolades for Ali's performance wasn't just limited to Pakistanis.
But the love from Pakistan for the man they say saved the game was a treat to view on Twitter.
It came from legends.
And enthusiastic fans who shared video clips of the winning moments.
