NCOC allows businesses to operate seven days a week

In light of the continuous decline in Covid cases and ongoing vaccination campaign against coronavirus across the country, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) allowed business centres to operate seven days a week, according to an Aaj News report.

The NCOC also allowed fully vaccinated people to visit cinemas and shrines.

The decisions were taken in a meeting of the body headed by its chief and federal minister Asad Umar on Friday.

During the course of meeting, the NCOC members deliberated in detail about the Covid situation and the pace of vaccination across the country followed by the announcement of ease in restrictions.

Quoting the NCOC, the report said 300 guests will be allowed at indoor wedding ceremonies, while 500 people can gather in outdoor wedding functions. Earlier, the NCOC allowed 200 guests in indoor weddings and 400 in outdoor gatherings.

The body further notified that the ease in restrictions are applicable till October 31 and the NCOC will hold a meeting on October 28 to deliberate the coronavirus situation across the country.

In other news, the country recorded 893 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours, according to the NCOC data.

The daily coronavirus positivity rate is 1.69 per cent on Friday.

With 24 new fatalities of the Covid in the last 24 hours, total number of coronavirus deaths reached to 28,252 mark since the pandemic surfaced in the country in 2020.

Currently, 2,014 patients infected with the virus are on critical care across the country.
