Even a single extra vote will be a bonus for us, says Bilawal
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto has said that even a single extra vote in senate elections will be a bonus for his party.
While talking to media outside parliament house after casting his vote, the PPP chairperson said that opposition has exposed the puppet government all over the country.
“We have shown that their own members are afraid of the government. We will send this government packing soon,” he said.
Earlier, Joint Candidate of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) from Islamabad seat in Senate elections Yousuf Raza Gillani claimed victory in senate saying they have already won the elections.
The former prime minister arrived in Parliament to cast his vote. While speaking to the media informally, he said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Hafeez Sheikh would not get enough votes [to secure win].
It is pertinent to mention here that polling for 37 seats of the Senate is underway under the supervision of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) from Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Islamabad.
A tough encounter is expected in National Assembly for the Islamabad seat where joint candidate of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Yusuf Raza Gilani are contesting against ruling party candidate Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh.
The current strength of the lower house is 341 and PTI’s candidate apparently enjoys the support of 180 MNAs.
