Pakistan on Monday has reported 1,160 new cases and 16 COVID-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours.

According to statistics shared by National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), the country's nerve center for unified efforts against coronavirus, 32,313 coronavirus tests were taken, 1,160 new confirmed cases were registered, and 16 deaths were reported countrywide in the last 24 hours.

There are currently 1,605 critical patients of COVID-19 admitted at different hospitals in the country.

With these latest statistics, the country's total number of confirmed cases stands at 572,334. Pakistan has so far recorded 12,617 coronavirus-related deaths, and a total of 535,491 patients have recovered from the novel disease.

Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccines expected to arrive in early March:

Special Assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan on Health Dr. Faisal Sultan on Saturday announced that the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccines are expected to arrive in Pakistan by early March.

SAPM took to Twitter notifying the public that the English vaccines will be available soon and that people aged above 60 years of age can now begin registration for the vaccination. He wrote:

"Pak Covid-19 vaccination, next phase - now that we have expected arrival of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine in early March, all those 60 years of age and older are now requested to begin registration."
