Goswami WhatsApp leak shows Modi govt used Balakot attack to win election, says PM Khan
2 min readPrime Minister Imran Khan on Monday has said that the Arnab Goswami WhatsApp leak strengthens Pakistan's point that the Modi government used the dangerous military adventurism that led to the Balakot attack to win domestic elections.
The premier addressed the controversy that has shaken both Pakistan and India in a series of tweets. Khan said that these revelations coming from Arnab, who is known for his warmongering stance, has revealed the unholy nexus between the Modi govt and Indian media:
"In 2019, I spoke at UNGA on how India’s fascist Modi govt used the Balakot crisis for domestic electoral gains. Latest revelations from the communication of an Indian journalist, known for his warmongering, reveal the unholy nexus between the Modi govt & Indian media."
Imran Khan added that this unholy nexus has conspired to destabilize the whole region by using dangerous military adventurism to win an election.
"...that led to dangerous military adventurism to win an election in utter disregard for the consequences of destabilizing the entire region. Pakistan averted a larger crisis by a responsible, measured response to Balakot. Yet, the Modi govt continues to turn India into a rogue state."
The prime minister also pointed out towards EUDisinfo lab report that exposed a 15-year-long disinformation campaign by India against Pakistan targeting the EU and UN. He said that "Indian sponsorship of terrorism in Pakistan, its abuses in IIOJK & a 15-year Indian global disinformation campaign against us all stand exposed. Now India's own media has revealed the dirty nexus that is pushing our nuclearised region to the brink of a conflict."
Khan reiterated that the Pakistani government will continue to expose India's belligerent designs towards Pakistan.
"I want to reiterate that my govt will continue to expose India's belligerent designs towards Pakistan & Modi govt's fascism. Int community must stop India from its reckless, militarist agenda before the Modi govt's brinkmanship pushes our region into a conflict it cannot control."
