India struggle before rain stops play in first Test
Kolkata: Sri Lanka fast bowler Dasun Shanaka struck twice before rain halted India's innings on the second day of the first Test on Friday with the hosts struggling on 74-5.
Overnight batsman Cheteshwar Pujara, batting on 47, and wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha, on six, were at the crease when rain interrupted play.
Shanaka returned figures of 2-23 in eight overs with first-day hero and fellow paceman Suranga Lakmal (3-5) conceding his first runs of the innings on a cloudy morning session.
India had started the day on 17-3 after just 11.5 overs were possible on a weather-hit opening day of the three-Test series.-AFP
