Security plan for Pakistan Vs West Indies Test series issued
The police have issued a security plan to ensure foolproof arrangements for the upcoming Pakistan vs West Indies Test series scheduled from January 17 to 29 at the Multan Cricket Stadium.
Over 5,000 police officers and personnel would be deployed during the test series, according to City Police Officer Sadiq Ali Dogar.
Personnel from the Traffic Police, Elite Force, Pakistan Army, Rangers, Special Branch and other law enforcement agencies would provide security at the stadium, airport, designated routes, parking areas, and hotels.
Meanwhile, search operations were underway around the stadium and other key areas to avert any untoward incidents while commandos, lady commandos and teams would patrol the stadium vicinity to handle any emergencies, police sources said.
The district administration has set up a dedicated parking area at the Fatima Jinnah Town from where a special shuttle bus service would transport cricket fans to the stadium.
Fans are required to carry their national identity cards for entry while the police have also issued strict restrictions on bringing firearms, toy guns, explosives, fireworks, cigarettes, matches, lighters, knives or sharp objects, posters or placards with obscene or hate-filled content.
