Pak-India cricket series should be revived: Waqar Younis

ISLAMABAD: Former Coach Waqar Younis believes Pak-India series should be revived as it the best cricket rivalries of all time.

Talking to media persons here at a local hotel on Friday, he said Pak-India Cricket series must never be stopped and should be revived.

Speaking about the revival of international cricket in Pakistan, he said having Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches in Karachi will send a positive message to the whole world that Pakistan is a safe country for sports activities.

"World XI and Sri Lankan team's tour to Pakistan has sent a very positive message to the world that Pakistan is safe for all kinds of sports," he remarked.

Waqar, who is also PSL team Islamabad United's bowling coach said he is hopeful that his team would do well in the third edition of the league.

"Shaheen Afridi and Muhammad Hussain are the two new talented bowlers that have come to fore," he said.

Responding to a question, he said fast bowlers getting unfit is part of life and praised Pakistani ace bowlers Muhammad Amir and Hasan Ali.

"Coach Mickey Arthur is handling the team very well and producing good results," he said.

However, he said that Domestic Cricket needs to be improved in order to get the best players at international level.—APP
