PLRA offers FTCs for the affluent: Capt (R) Zafar Iqbal
LAHORE, Nov 06 (APP):The Director General (DG) Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA), Capt (R) Zafar Iqbal has said that intordution of Fast Track Counters (FTCs) had been finalised on the pattern of NADRA executive booths for preferential and fast services with additional charges.
"The FTCs will work in the evening shift from 3 pm to 7 pm which would provide financial benefit to the PLRA employees besides ensuring service delivery of the department", he said while talking to APP here on Monday.
To a question, DG PLRA said the decision had been endorsed by a committee headed by Provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan, adding that provision of better services to the public and controlling corrupt practices were the main targets. About checking corruption and inefficiency, Capt (R) Zafar Iqbal said the establishment of Intelligence and Vigilance Wing of the PLRA had also been approved, adding that earlier the district collectors and the PLRA headquarters were monitoring corruption and inefficiency.
To a query he said, I&V wing would be headed by a retired army colonel and 60-70 retired army officers would be recruited for the job to check corruption and inefficiency, adding that the wing would ensure zero tolerance towards corruption besides eradication of exploitation through forgery, fraud and manipulation. Regarding new initiatives to facilitate the public, the DG said the delivery of certified copies of the transfer/registery document would be made through courier at the owner's door-step from December  15, adding that Complaint Automated System would be operational from  31st December 2017 in case of customer dissatisfaction and feedback.
DG PLRA, further added, that said security enabled paper would be introduced from 1st January 2018 to the Fard for Sale, adding that the setp would help eliminate corruption or forgery. About more public facilitation, he said PLRA had set up Bank of Punjab (BoP) counters at land record service centers for provision of agri pass books besides depositing transfer and fard fee, adding that PLRA conters had also been set up a BoP designated branches.
He said Mobile Van Service would be launched from the next financial year to facilitate the senior citizens in the acquisition of fard services, adding that the pilot project would be introduced in five major cities of the province including Lahore.
About VIP culture at service centers, he said Queue Management System had been introduced at the centers to discourage VIP culture and provide equal services.
DG Capt (R) Zafar Iqbal said the PLRA had played a vital role in poverty alleviation, enhancing collateral land value and control of corruption-APP.
