Pakistan, Jordan agree to deepen defence cooperation
Pakistan and Jordan have agreed to further strengthen bilateral defence and military cooperation following high-level talks at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, the military’s media wing said on Thursday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordan Armed Forces, Major General Yousef Ahmed A. Al Huneiti, called on Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
The meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, evolving regional security dynamics, and avenues to enhance defence and military collaboration between the two countries, ISPR said.
The visiting Jordanian commander praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their role in promoting peace and stability in the region.
Field Marshal Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening defence ties with Jordan and stressed the importance of joint efforts to address emerging security challenges.
Both sides expressed a shared resolve to expand military-to-military engagement and cooperation, underscoring the brotherly relations between Pakistan and Jordan, the statement added.
