WEB DESK: Parenting is a tough nut to crack. It requires immense patience and determination. Moreover, a person has to give up on many personal things to just give her/his entire attention to kids and home.

Also, parents wish to raise disciplined children which is essential. And, parents should teach five things by age 10 as it will help them in longer term.

Grades, every parent's weakness. You can't really measure a child's intelligence by grades. Every child is different and takes time to show progress. However, parents should be focused towards 'acquiring knowledge'. You should tell your children that knowledge is greater than grades.

You should respect both girls and boys. They are equal

Every child must know the difference being blunt and confident. And, parents are responsible to teach them that. It is necessary to make them learn how to respect and respect should be given to elders and youngers, boys and girls. Moreover, impede them from talking bluntly with anyone whether they are of their age or elder. Teach them to polite and give respect to everyone equally.

Furthermore, it is totally fine to ask questions and it won't make appear 'dumb', this is another essential factor that parents need to teach children. And, age before 10 is an ideal time for that.

Making mistakes indicates you are trying. People rarely learn from their mistakes, they don't even accept them at first place. So, it is now a duty of parents to teach children that making mistakes is fine and they should learn from failures.

Always be ready to stand up for yourself

If you want your child to live without insecurities in future, teach them to stand up for themselves. You might have to do some extra work on that but you child must know that respecting others is essential but defending an idea or a point of view is necessary too.
