Butchers' service charges increase manifold on eve of Eid

MULTAN: Butchers' service charges on eve of Eid Ul Azha gone up manifolds as compared to other routine days.

There are thousands of professional as well as non-professional butchers (seasonal) used to extend their services on Eid days in the city, said Aslam alias Achhu Qasaie, a butcher operating business at Pul Baraan.

While talking to APP, he informed that the services of professional butchers were high as compared to non-professionals.

About non-professional butchers, Aslam informed that a number of villagers hailing from suburban rural areas rushed to city on eve of Eid days.

They extend their services against low prices in the city.

He informed that they took more time for slaughtering and proper cutting of the meat.

About professional butchers, he informed that they were charging Rs 15,000 for camels, Rs 8,000 for calf, bull etc and Rs 3,500 for small animals including sheep, male-goat.

He informed "I have booked an order for slaughtering of eight big animals at a same spot in Wapda Town and I would charge Rs 56,000".

Idrees Khan, another butcher near Lodhi Colony Morr, informed that the services charges of the butchers on first day of Eid were higher as compared to second day. He added that there would be 50 percent reduction of the services charges on second and third day of Eid.

Local citizens including Rashid Qureshi, Saad, Habibullah of Shadaab colony said that there was shortage of the butchers and the dearth of butchers rendered significant increase in the services charges.

They added that their kids were demanding slaughtering of animals as early as possible after Eid prayer.

They added that there were in search of butchers against reasonable services charges.
